Burnett, who co-produced the soundtrack with guitarist/songwriter Stephen Bruton. Synopsis Four-time Academy Award® nominee JEFF BRIDGES stars as the richly comic, semi-tragic romantic anti-hero Bad Blake, a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who's had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. It was nice to hear the "old style" country come out in this soundtrack. Both Jeff Bridges and Coli Farrell performed surprisingly well on their cuts. The mix of old country with Blue Grass and Folk music was a good combination. I highly recommend this soundtrack to anyone that likes the older country sound. BTW....The movie was good too....not great but told a nice simple story.

Despite not being a big country music fan, I really enjoy this soundtrack, probably because I also enjoyed the movie. Jeff Bridges is a very credible country singer and the original music is very high quality and emotionally accessible. If you liked the movie, it's a no brainer to have the music around to enjoy as well. Ryan Bingham, who sings the albums title song, has a wonderful voice. So much so, that I got his album too and love it.
